VITAS Healthcare, the nation’s leading provider of cuidados al final de la vida, has opened its first dedicated hospital-based inpatient suites in Orange County at Chapman Global Medical Center, where together, they will provide high quality care for terminally ill patients with complex symptoms.
Hospice inpatient beds enable VITAS to provide care for hospice patients whose symptoms are better managed in a hospital setting while adhering to the patient's wishes for end-of-life care. VITAS leads the way in the development of hospice and palliative care to improve the quality of life for patients and their families.

“Though most of our patients choose to receive hospice care at home, the option of an inpatient hospice bed in a hospital is invaluable” said Belinda Hodge, VITAS Healthcare of Orange County Senior General Manager. "The talented staff at Chapman Global Medical Center and our inpatient rooms will allow our patients to receive the unique care they require."
The two private and spacious cuidados de hospicio suites, located in the hospital's medical surgical unit, offer the ability for family and loved ones to be present 24-hours a day. VITAS patients will receive the highest quality of care from Chapman Hospital staff under the direction and supervision of the VITAS' interdisciplinary team of dedicated physicians, nurses, social workers and chaplains attending to the medical, emotional, social and spiritual needs of patients and their families.
“We are very happy to partner with VITAS Healthcare and their expert hospice and equipo de cuidado paliativo to provide these important and much-needed services,” said Ron Galonsky, Chief Executive Officer at Chapman Global Medical Center.
